Brianna Elliot, Project Lead with the Technology Access Centre for Livestock Production (TACLP) team at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology, is one of the finalists for the Canadian Cattle Young Leaders Program.

Elliot, who has worked at Olds College since 2018, was just one of 16 people across Canada selected.
“I’m extremely honoured to be picked,” said Elliot. “Taking part in this program will help me grow personally and professionally. I’d like to thank the team at Olds College for its guidance and support.”
Brianna's focus on technology stems from her desire to find innovative solutions to the challenges facing the livestock industry. At the TACLP, Brianna works to identify and apply cutting-edge technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability in the industry. Her work involves developing and testing new technologies, tools and practices that can improve efficiency, reduce waste and promote regenerative practices.
In addition to her work as a Project Lead, Brianna also runs a cow-calf operation near Sundre, Alta. Her hands-on experience in the livestock industry gives her perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing producers today.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Cattle Association says the Canadian Cattle Young Leaders Program acts as an industry succession planning tool to equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and tools they need to continue to drive the growth and profitability of the Canadian beef industry.
“Congratulations to the finalists for their remarkable commitment to our industry and their engaging contributions during the roundtable discussions," said Nathan Phinney, President, Canadian Cattle Association. "The impressive pool of semi-finalists this year is a promising sign for the future of our industry.”
Over 200 people have participated in the program since its inception in 2010.
