With open doors and plenty of excitement, Olds College of Agriculture & Technology welcomed more than 1,000 prospective students during its two-day Open House on Oct. 4 and 5. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the campus and envision their future at the College.
Friday focused on high school groups from across Alberta, offering several sessions that showcased academic programs, the admissions process and financial aid options. Students also attended a special presentation by Broncos Athletics, highlighting collegiate sports opportunities. Student-led tours provided a firsthand look at the campus, amenities and residence life.

On Saturday, prospective students and their families flocked to the campus for a deeper dive into Olds College life. Student volunteers guided tours through program-specific facilities, including the College’s Smart Farm, Werklund School of Agriculture Technology, trades building, equine facilities and the newly renovated Animal Health Education Centre. Tours also covered residences, dining areas and recreational spaces.
At the heart of the event, information booths allowed students to connect directly with faculty, staff and current students, gaining a deeper understanding of academic programs and student services. Among the highlights were the Students' Association of Olds College (SAOC) booth, where alumni eagerly shared their experiences with prospective students, and the Hospitality and Tourism mocktail station, which stirred up plenty of excitement.

With application fees waived for the event, students and their parents took full advantage of on-campus application stations to apply for the 2025 intake. The turnout and enthusiasm reflect Olds College’s growing reputation as a leader in agriculture and technology education.
This year’s Open House showcased not only the College’s hands-on learning and industry partnerships, but also the dedication of staff, faculty and the recruitment team. It underscored the College’s vibrant community, where future students can envision themselves thriving both academically and socially.
