Olds College Ranked One of Canada’s Top Research Colleges

Olds College of Agriculture & Technology has been ranked one of Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges, according to Research Infosource Inc. Currently, Olds College finds itself in 14th place in the rankings.

“We’re honoured to be recognized as one of the best research colleges in the nation,” said Todd Ormann, Vice President Development & Research (Interim), Olds College. “We believe our applied research continues to strengthen the agriculture and ag tech industries in Canada.”

The College’s main research areas focus on smart agriculture technology and practices, livestock production, crops and environmental stewardship. Olds College works with industry partners, academics and government to support applied research, innovation, commercialization and entrepreneurship. 

“We remain committed to building the foundation that helps address real-world challenges with farming, food and land,” said Ormann. “We’re excited to contribute to the growth of Canada’s agricultural industry in a sustainable way.” 

The Olds College Smart Farm is at the heart of the Smart Ag Ecosystem at the College and has expanded to include more than 3,000 acres of farmland, infrastructure and staff who are experienced in agricultural technology research and development.
