Olds College of Agriculture & Technology is happy to support the Tomorrow Needs 4-H campaign with a $5,000 donation from the College, as well as having numerous staff members give personal donations.
Tomorrow Needs 4-H is a fundraising initiative of the Canadian 4-H Foundation that supports future national programming for senior 4-H members. These programs help build skills and leadership development for a national network of youth leaders from communities across the country.
Many staff members and faculty at Olds College have close ties with 4-H and are still involved in the organization through judging, mentoring, and supporting the foundation and its youth leaders. 4-H prioritizes hands-on learning, networking and mentorship for its members, and those are values that Olds College shares to help prepare students for their futures.
“Donating to the Tomorrow Needs 4-H campaign was Olds College’s opportunity to help give back to 4-H and ensure future members gain those unique skills and confidence to take on leadership roles throughout our industry,” says Todd Ormann, Vice President Development & Research (Interim) at Olds College. “We share 4-H's motto of ߵLearn To Do By Doing’ by prioritizing work-integrated learning at Olds College and the Smart Farm. When we heard our partner Farm Credit Canada committed to matching donations up to $50,000 to the Tomorrow Needs 4-H campaign, we immediately jumped on board to help the cause.”
