Throughout the five-day program, participants explored Alberta’s leadership in agriculture and innovation through presentations, discussions and site visits. The delegation heard from Government of Alberta representatives Monica Franco-Chiparawasha, Senior Investment Attraction Officer, and Jiwon Christine Bang, Senior Trade Development Officer, along with David Fullerton, Director of Applied Research at Olds College.
The program also included visits to Bunge, Lethbridge Polytechnic, Farming Smarter, Rocky Mountain Equipment and Trochu Motors Ltd., providing participants with opportunities to learn directly from Alberta industries working across agriculture, agri-food, agricultural technology, education and agricultural equipment.
Beyond the professional program, the delegation participated in a farewell dinner in Olds with Mayor Dan Daley, and Olds College Vice Presidents Todd Ormann and Dalin Bullock, providing an opportunity to further strengthen relationships between the Korean delegation, Olds College and the community.
The extensive coordination involved thousands of kilometres of travel throughout Alberta, providing a comprehensive view of Alberta’s agricultural ecosystem while creating opportunities for future collaboration between these two countries. Reflecting Olds College’s continued commitment to international engagement and Transnational Education, connecting global partners with Alberta’s expertise in agriculture, technology, applied learning and innovation.
