On May 14, 2026, Olds College of Agriculture & Technology welcomed more than 550 prospective students and supporters to campus during this year’s Discovery Day Open House, offering visitors a firsthand look at student life, hands-on learning and career-focused education.

The event brought together future students from 14 schools across the region for a day of program exploration, campus tours and interactive experiences led by faculty, staff and current students. Visitors had the opportunity to explore programs across agriculture, trades, business, animal health, environmental studies, and more while learning about the unique opportunities available at Olds College.

Throughout the day, prospective students connected with instructors, explored learning spaces and participated in activities designed to showcase the applied, industry-driven education Olds College is known for.

The impact of the event was clear for many visiting students and teachers, with one teacher noting that, “It was a super positive day. We have numerous kids who now have intentions of going to Olds. Some of our Grade 12s even applied, and numerous kids from Grade 10 and 11 have indicated that they have moved Olds College to the top of the list.”  Also noting that it was due to the bus subsidy, offered by the College, that made it possible for the school to attend.

Discovery Day continues to play an important role in helping students explore future career pathways and experience campus life in a meaningful way.
