Protus Nyende is a Research Technician for the Smart Agriculture Applied Research team. He holds a M.Sc. in Animal Science from the University of Alberta (U of A) and a B.Sc. in Agriculture from Chuka University in Kenya, providing him with a robust foundation in both animal and crop science.
His passion is driven by a commitment to finding practical solutions to challenges within agricultural food systems. During his time at the U of A, he contributed to expanding markets for pulse growers by researching the use of pulse grains such as faba beans in livestock feed.
Now, as a member of the Smart Agriculture Applied Research team at Olds College, Protus finds it rewarding to contribute to applied research initiatives that enhance efficiency, precision and sustainability in the agricultural food chain.
