Dr. Jay Cross Awarded the 2023 Olds College Honourary Degree

With over 20 years of experience as a professor of reproductive biology and genetics at the University of Calgary, Dr. Cross has made significant advancements in understanding animal reproduction and development. His research on embryo implantation, fetal growth, and maternal adaptations to pregnancy has greatly improved veterinary care practices.

Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Cross has shown exceptional leadership through various initiatives. He founded The 2050 Project, an educational program that encourages high school students to tackle global challenges and develop innovative solutions. As the Chief Instigation Officer at the McEachran Institute, he leads efforts to protect the health of animals, people, and ecosystems by promoting skills and capacity in veterinary medicine and related professions.
