This year’s Open House introduced a fresh, flexible format allowing visitors to design their own experience. Instead of a set and structured schedule, guests could choose from a wide range of activities and information sessions, including program booths, faculty meet-and-greets, Smart Farm tours and residence visits.
Highlights included an agriculture communications-themed Jeopardy-style quiz, demonstrations in the welding lab and interactive displays showcasing programs across agriculture, trades, animal health, business and horticulture.
The goal was to give future students a genuine sense of what it feels like to study and live at Olds College by creating a more open and exploratory format. Guests were able to connect with faculty, staff and current students at their own pace — and really picture themselves here.
The two-day event generated strong interest from attendees, with many taking the next step toward applying for programs at Olds College. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the weekend reflected the spirit of innovation and community that continues to define Olds College — where students don’t just learn about their future, they begin building it.
