Thanks to the incredible support and generosity of Bumper to Bumper in Olds, Alberta, international students in the Agricultural & Heavy Equipment Certificate program at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology are now well-equipped for success. The program recently received a generous donation valued at $3,000 in the form of a well-stocked toolbox. This toolbox includes a variety of essential tools such as wrenches, ratchets, sockets, and screwdrivers that will greatly benefit the students in their courses.
As a requirement of the Agricultural & Heavy Equipment Certificate program, students are expected to bring and maintain their own tools in the workshop. However, for international students, meeting this requirement can present substantial challenges, as they may encounter limitations in transporting tools from their home countries. The generous donation comes to the aid of these students, significantly strengthening their journey to success by providing them with the vital resources they need.
"The School of Trades & Skills is immensely fortunate and deeply grateful for the local support provided by Bumper to Bumper,” expressed Dennis Beaudoin, Dean, School of Trades & Skills. “Their contribution not only alleviates the financial strain on our international students, but also guarantees they have the necessary resources to excel in their studies.”
In the past, the Bumper to Bumper award was given to one first-year student, selected by the faculty. However, this year the donation ensures that international students have equal access to the tools they need for success. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Rob Rhodes, Owner of the Olds Bumper to Bumper location, for making this remarkable contribution to the education and success of our international students possible. Your support is truly appreciated!
