Brawn / McClellan Riding Arenas

The Brawn / McClellan Riding Arenas offer two versatile equestrian spaces ideal for clinics, exhibitions, training sessions and western-themed events. The Brawn Arena provides a true western setup with features like a roping box, bucking chutes and cattle-handling systems, while the McClellan Arena supports English-riding activities with tack-locker sections, wash bays and support rooms. Together, these arenas deliver spacious, functional and uniquely western facilities perfect for a wide range of equine or large-scale activities.

The arenas are perfect for event planners who want a venue outside the conventional ballroom or conference space, this facility marries open floor area, functional equestrian infrastructure and a unique atmosphere.

Brawn (South) Arena

The Brawn Arena hosts several equine classes such as ground training, western riding, coaching, massage therapy and driving the draft horse. It includes a wash bay, two large tack rooms, tack lockers, a classroom, a cattle handling system, bucking chutes and a roping box.

The stabling component holds 28 horses. This arena is shared with the Olds College Rodeo Team. Rodeo practices take place during the week and College rodeo events, including our annual Alumni Rodeo and Canadian College Rodeo Association rodeos, are held here.

McClellan (North) Arena

Several equine classes take place in the McClellan arena including English riding, horse health care and coaching. This arena is complete with a large wash bay, four tack locker sections, and a vet/farrier room.

The stabling component holds up to 48 horses. The Animal Health Technology program uses this arena for several of its equine classes including radiology and students in the Race Track Program use this arena for the first few weeks of their training. This arena hosts many events such as riding clinics, massage clinics, Animal Health Technology dog training classes, and more.

  • Portable sound system: $75/each
  • Microphones: $25/each
  • Portable projector and screen: $150/each
  • Portable screen only: $20/each
  • Laptop: $150/each
  • Tech activation: $50/room
  • Tech on site: $65/hour
  • Sound fee (dance only): $55.52
  • SOCAN fee (dance only): $132.39

Basic set up and take down are included in the rental price. Additional set up fees may apply based on requests.
