Students will be able to articulate the differences between chemical and biological pest and disease management in the culture of crops in a crop production facility.  The students will describe differences between Integrated Pest Management and Integrated Crop Management in the context of Best Production Practices.

Chemical Pest & Disease Management

This microcredential examines chemical pest and disease management. Students will review the range of chemical pest management options and make recommendations based on plant performance and the need to manage pests and diseases.

Biological Pest & Disease Management

In this microcredential, students will review the range of biological pest management options as an alternative to chemical pesticide methods and make recommendations based on plant performance and the need to manage pests and diseases.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM), Integrated Crop Management (ICM) & Best Production Practices (BPP)

In this microcredential, students will compare traditional Integrated Pest Management against Integrated Crop Management, specifically in the area of cost control. In addition, students assess both applications as essential components in Best Production Practices.
