Getting Started - Enrolment Checklist
Once you’ve received your acceptance email, we encourage you to complete our enrolment checklist.
Apply for your Study Permit / Co-Op work permit
Refer to Immigration and Citizenship webpage for information on how to apply for your Study Permit and Travel Visas.
Pay your Tuition Deposit and request a receipt
All admitted International students are required to pay a $1,500 CAD tuition deposit to secure their seat in the program. Your admission documentation will provide your tuition deposit deadline date. Olds College has partnered with Flywire to provide international students with a safe and convenient way to pay their Tuition Deposit and Tuition & Fees. Please visit oldscollege.flywire.com
Submit proof of Study Permit application
Submit a screenshot of your IRCC portal to your Admission Officer.
Submit proof of Study Permit approval
Submit a copy of your Study Permit approval / Letter of Introduction to your Admission Officer.
Prepare for your arrival to Canada and Olds
Students are responsible for their own travel arrangements to Olds, Alberta.
Refer to “Coming to Canada” for information on Living in Canada.
Review International Student Health Care options
The provincial health care system covers basic and preventive medical services, as well as emergency care. As an international student with a valid study permit, you should be eligible for provincial health care.
Apply for your Social Insurance Number
All International students planning to work or required to do a Field School, Internship, Directed Field Study or Practicum, students are required to have a Social Insurance Number.
Submit a copy of your Study Permit to your Admission Officer
Once you arrive in Canada and are provided your Study Permit by the CBSA Officer, please scan and email a copy of the permit to your Admission Officer.
